Reporting and data visualization with .NET?

Postby selmar » 17 Dec 2013, 21:52

How can I create reports (like well-formatted pdf files) and analytical graphs with C#/.NET?

This is the answer I got at stackoverflow:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2060 ... n-with-net

Do you have some other ideas? What is the simplest way to generate a pdf report that contains some tables and graphs?

Thanks

Reporting and Data Visualization

ReportViewer control of the .NET framework is quite useful for creating printable reports that can also be easily exported as pdf files.

Useful links:

We recommend following walktrough for creating a simple report with Visual Studio:
Walkthrough: Creating a ReportViewer Report

You may need to replace the SQL in the walktrough (for DataSet definition) however with a simpler one; it didn't work for us.

You may find various chart items in the toolbox related with ReportViewer. You can insert plot diagrams generated by some other applications like matlab or R as image file into the report.
